The Timber Lion in Amsterdam has been nominated for the Amsterdam Architecture Prize (AAP).
The wooden shell of this 5 storey residential building was designed by Hamlet. Of course, you don't see much of it, except in the ceilings of the appartments. Here, the CLT is fully visible and you are actually looking at the wooden main structure.
The floor plans and the aesthetic design are by Heren5 Architects.
The Timber Lion (in Dutch: De Houten Leeuw) comprises 32 social housing units commissioned by Stadgenoot.
Hamlet was responsible for the design, supply and assembly of the CLT super structure in this project. Also the prefabricated bathroom pods and the prefabricated timber frame facade elements are installed by Hamlet.
